No probate listed; no cemetery listing. It may be possible to look at land records, since it appears he did have property.
There is also a John B. Willett who married a Rebecca Elsler 4 Oct 1846 in Clark Co MO; both were from Van Buren Co IA. On the 1850 census it lists John as "Willits" and 25 yrs old, born Ohio, and Rebecca 22 yrs old, born PA. Don't know if that rings any bells for you but it may be worth chasing down to see if Rebecca is related to A.Charles Etzler.
