I'm searching for information on a James A.W. Lawrence. In the 1930 census it lists an inmate at the prison in Jefferson City, Cole, Missouri by that name.
My great grandmother (Susannah White) married a James A. W. Lawrence in Miller Co., Missouri on 7 April 1892. They had 2 daughters, Birdie (Elizabeth Ann - my grandma) and her sister Lizzie (Kathryn Elizabeth) and then he seems to have disappeared! I always thought that he died either before or shortly after Lizzie was born (1896) but have never found him. My ggrandma Susie had children by 2 other men and is buried with the last one but no one can find any marriage certificates. Could it be that she never divorced James and just went on with her life?
Is there a website that might have a listing of the inmates and a way to find out personal information about them so that I could find out if this is the man I am searching for?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
