I am trying to learn who the parents are of John A.W. Russell, Dent Co. MO.; he is my great great grandfather. Over the weekend, I found John buried at the Cedar Grove Cem. in Salem, Mo., but i have no idea the name of John's parents. I know that John lived in Dent Co. in 1880, since he and wife are in that census. I know that they had a son named Marshall Andrew (Todd) who was my great grandfather. I know that John was in the Civil War, a Corporal, age 19 years, and I know that he enlisted on November 1, 1861 at Dade Co. Mo.
from Military Records derived from the Soldiers Database of the Missouri State Archives. I have an IGI Individual Record that shows his birth year as 1842,bp: Dade Co. MO. and death date 2 Sept. 1895. This record also lists his parents as Miles Malone Russell and Sarah J. Fanning. If anyone has information on John I would love to hear from you. I will gladly share with you any information that i have on my Russell family.
