I am looking for information, genealogical as well as historical and narrative, about the Capps family in and around Dekalb County.
John Richard Capps left North Carolina to settle in Adams Township. His son, John Berry Capps, married Eda Martha Smith. Their son, Earl Clyde Capps - my grandfather, was killed while serving on a sherrif's "posse". My father, Berry Ellsworth Capps, was also born in the area. My grandmother, Ora Sara Cawthon Capps, relocated to Arizona after the death of Earl Clyde Capps.
Earl Clyde Capps and his brother Olas Capps, as well as several other family members, are buried in the Mt Pleasant Cemetery near Maysville.
