Laban was born in May 31, 1812 not 1799. He was born in Shaftsbury, Bennington County, Vermont. He owned a farm there in 1838 and sold it to move to Stamford Vermont where 2 of his sons Albert and Oscar served in the Civil War.
He had two daughters who died we now know their names and where they are buried and have pictures of them. We also have pictures of all 4 sons, Oscar, Albert, Andrew and John.
