Additional information on Laban Norton Matteson

Laban Matteson served in the militia unit in Arlington Vt. It was the 2nd Regiment of the 1st Brigade. This company is listed as the 1st in 1843 or the 5th in 1835 or the 3rd in 1843. Along with Laban is Hiram Matteson and Orvil Matteson. Hiram Mattison is listed as "Sergent" in June of 1835. Why was this regiment renamed so many times?? Laban is buried in Greystone Cemetery in Maysville, MO. We are told his stone is a military stone. I need Laban Norton Matteson's parents and siblings. I have his downline and wife's information. Laban was 32 in 1843, he owned land in Bennington County in 1831 and sold it in 1838. Does this sound familiar to someone???
