Reguarding Laclede County Murrells.My grandfather was Stark Andrew Murrell , son of James Stark Murrell and brother to Daniel Murrell. I ran across a 1900 census of Newton County , Missouri and it listed Daniel and stated he was born in Indian Territory.My grand parents were married there , but were from Indian Territory.James Stark Murrell was registered as full blood Cherokee and his descendants and was okayed for membership but was killed before he could pick up card.So they were apparently in Oklahoma(IT) for a while and probabley went up when Margaret Stark Murrell died (Jame's Mom).I too cannot find out where my grandfather was born.My grandfather told me both his parents were Cherokee.
