In "Laclede County, MO 1900-1929 Obituaries & Dath Notices" by the Historical Society is: Mrs. G.W. Davis an old resident of Laclede County died on Oct 26 in he home in the Wair Chapel neighborhoodd at the age of 82 years. Mrs. Davis formerly was Miss Nancy Ann Simpson and was born in Spring Garden, Cole County, in 1846. About ten years later, she cme to Laclede County with her family and since has made her home in the Wair Chapel neighborhood. In 1864, she was married to George W. Davis, who died in 1916. Of the twelve children born of this union, six survive: William A. and Rufus of Laclede County; Elvis of California; Melvin of Wister, Oklahoma; Dr. E.P. Davis of New Mexico and Mrs. Rosa Wringle of Richland. Twenty grand-children and nineteen great-grand-children also survive Mr & Mrs A.E. Oliver, Judge and Mrs Oscar Honssinger, Mr. & Mrs. Clyde Beck, J.M. Davis and family and Mrs. Pearl Osborn went from Lebanon to attend the services.
