Bill,

FYI - On both the 1870 and 1860 Missouri Census for Mercer County, the family name is listed under "Bryant".

I can send you a copy of both census records for comparison if you would like me to. There is another Bryant close by in 1860 by the name of Thomas W. I would imagine that they are brothers - both born in TN. There are several Bryants in the 1180 and 1870 census close to Benj.

I couldn't find the name in the 1850 census but there were a ton of Bryant's in TN for 1850 and further back.

The next time I go the genealogy library I'll search the Bryan(t) name in one of Mercer County Historical Society books for you.

If you go to the Mercer County website found through genweb and search the surname, you'll find several cemetery listings.
