I have been told that my ggrandmother froze to death in the county jail because the jailer got drunk and forgot about her.She was in jail because she shot a squatter who was trying to take her land.But the problem is,I don't know which county! I know she was living in Mercer County in 1880,but don't know if she died there,or in Benton Co.,or when she died.Not even sure the story is true.Has anyone heard such a story? Her name was Julia (Warden)Burns. Any help appreciated!!
