Obituary: Darrel D. Buis

Bethany,MO: Ridgeway has lost a great friend, dear husband and father, Darrel Dee Buis, age 86, Crestview, Bethany,MO, formerly of Ridgeway, passed away Friday, November 28, 2003 at Liberty,MO hospital.
Born Feb 5, 1917, to Joseph C. and Mary Ann (Wyant) Buis, in Bethany,MO, Darrel attended Phonex Country School and was a member of the Ridgeway Christian Church.
On Feb. 14, 1940 he married Pauline Longfellow. He farmed on their farm north of Ridgeway,MO and then worked for Clarkson Construction. He built their new houses in Ridgeway and built many projects for others as well. There are many houses around Ridgeway with cabinets made by Darrel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Dean; sisters Delores Elmore, Deva Zwicki, Dora Dale Wilson and grandson Tracy Gene Buis.
Survivors: son Gene, Ridgeway; daughers Shirley Fitzpatrick,Ridgeway; and Gladys Rutledge, Boliver,MO; brother Kendal, Pikeville,KY; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Service: 10:30 am Monday December 1, 2003 ... burial Ridgeway,MO cemetery.
