the information from 1836-1925 Iowa State Censusis as follows: William Lasley was first married in Missoui to Brady Johnson (no date available)but marriaige place is Missouri. Cecil May Lasley was born about 1904 in Missouri. Aunt Cecil was married to Harry Williams and they resided in Monroe City Mo. They had one daughter Norma and Norma had two daughters Winona and Dorothy Clayton, who now may reside in St. Louis Mo.(Don't remember birthdays and haven't found any information yet on them.
1925 census indicates that William Lasley's wife was Peggie A. Lasley(my grandmother). It states that his birth place is Tennessee and his father's nave is Abraham Lasley and his mother is Sabria Dawson. It also says the marraige place was Tennessee.I do know that they came from Mt. Pleasant Tennessee according to the stories they use to tell.1920 United States federal Census says that James Lasley lived East St Louis Ward2, St Clair Il. He was born about 1896 in Tennessee and his parents were from Tennessee, but it does not list his parents. It says that his spouse is Letha. and they had two children Ernell and DonvianDon't have any information on Anna except that she lived in Mt. Pleasant Tennessee in 1945, when grandpa William was killed. This information was in the newspaper.
Story is that my great grandparents were slaves and possible Blackfoot Indian.
The family is African American.
