Thanks for your reply. All I know about James is that he was born in Virginia in 1800 and married Elizabeth ?, who was born in 1805. They are in the Troup Co. census in 1850 and 1860. I have no parents for them nor brothers and sisters. Their daughter, Mary Jane, married into the Bates family in Murray Co. and I've been trying to figure out how she got there.
