Does anyone have any information about the name "Pearl" as a given name for males in the MOBLEY family?
According to published information there is, in the Dover Hill Cemetary in Martin Co., IN, a tombstone for a Pearl, son of Erwin and Sarah MOBERLY. I believe that this tombstone may have had the top part broken off, and that it may be that of Winchester P. MOBERLY (MOBLEY), who died one day after his mother Sarah.
I am descended from Robert C. MOBLEY (MOBERLY, MOBLY), whose sons and grandsons often have "P" as their middle initial. There was another Winchester P., a Fanning P., and a Hannigan P.
I believe that this family of MOBLEYs in Indiana may be connected to the Arkansas family. I have read that Isaiah MOBLEY had a son named Robert, but have not been able to verify this. The Civil War records of Fanning P. MOBLEY, son of Robert C. lists Warren Co., KY as his birthplace, and I know that Isaiah MOBLEY lived there for a while before he moved to Arkansas. Robert's known children are : Winchester P., Erwin J., Lucetta E., Mary Frances, Fanning P., Hester Ann, and Amelia Jane.
I would appreciate any information anyone might have that would prove that Isaiah MOBLEY did have a son named Robert, and any information on the life of that son.
