The information that I've received of her parents from their birth dates and place of birth, it appears to be the same family line. As to there being another Mary J in the family line, I have actually come across several families that have named their children the same or similar during that time period. I do not know if all the children listed actually belong to James and Elizabeth, or just happen to be living in their household (maybe as their grandchildren) during the time of the 1860 census. I received my data from my cousin.
Mary Jane's brother (my gggrandfather) is Washington P. Mobley, born about 1827 in Georgia and lived in Troup County. I am trying to find a way to trace the family line from Virginia to Troup County. So far, no luck. It is as if this family has no other history and that James has no parents nor brothers or sisters (but I know this couldn't be possible).
