There are arugments as to the parentage of Ransom - some think:

11211              Ezekiel Mobley, b. bef. 1770 NC [divcd 1824 Maury Co., she said did not know his whereabouts]
               m. 1/9/1792 Susannah Mobley[1117],[in Wake Co., bondsman William Bledsoe-#], b. ca 1774, Wake Co., NC [dau. of Mordecai & Dorcas Read Mobley]

[Placement based mainly on Ezekiel's association with Ransome Sutherland]
We are trying to prove or disprove as far as Ezekiel being father of Ransom. I say Ransom not son of Ezekiel & Sukey Mobley in Wake County, N.C. 1800 Wake County census shows "one" son. That should be Edward, who came to Maury County, TN along with his 3 sisters and parents. Two of the girls married there in 1817. Biddy married Peter Johnson and Polly married Abner Johnston. Edward married Jane Bradshaw Maury County. They later moved across county line into Lawrence County, TN where they raised their entire family. The one other sister, old maid "Aunt Liddie" Lydia, always lived with Edward & Jane until both died in 1863 and from then on until the last census I have in 1870 which shows her with Edward's son, also named Ezekiel.

NOTE: There is only one son shown in 1800 census, which would be Edward 112111. No record of a Ransom found in Maury, Lawrence, Giles or Wayne Co., TN

112112 ?              Ransom Mobley, b. 1/1/1798, NC, d. 12/12/1842 Weakley Co., TN
                      m. 2/13/1820 Priscilla Bailey, b. 1802, NC, d. 10/12/1877 Clay Co., AR
(they bought land in Gibson Co., TN in 1825, were there in 1830 but not in 1840) [his sons were in Greene & Clay Cos. AR in 1860]
