Hello all,

I have been trying to find a definative link to the MOBERLY's of Bartholomew Co., Indiana, thru a possible daughter of JESSE RALPH MOBLEY named RUTH ANN (MOBERLY)BETTS, wife/widow of Noah Betts. Generally she used the name ANN or ANNIE, and that makes a nice complication! ;-)

Because of a fire in the court house may old records were lost, little is in the local historical society or state genealogy files and I have used as many of the online resources as possible. FAMILY Search (http://www.familysearch.org/ has the only strong information I can found to date and it lists the following:

Jesse R. MOBLEY b:1818, son of John Lewis MOBLEY b:1790, son of Mordecai Mobley b:1763. Most of the birthplaces of this line were in TN. MD. and PA.

There is also information regarding Nellie/Ellie/Ellen-Law/McFalls posted in in a previous message!

Jesse had 16 children and, of course, named one of the sons JOHN MOBLEY. If only one ancestor was creative...sigh.

And to add to the RED headed line comments, my grandmother who was Jesse's grandaugher, had bright copper penny red hair as did two of my cousins!

I would love to correspond with any MOBLEY descendants of this John Lewis and Mordecai line to see what we come up with for PROVEN DATES & searchable lines.
