This is indeed the same Ledford Canfield Mobley. The information that he went to Weatherford, TX, came from Peyton Mobley's family Bible. I do not have it, nor a photocopy of it, but received a transcription of its contents 20 years ago from a lady in Atlanta, GA.

I descend from Ledford's son, John Crittendon Mobley. He married Augusta Louvenia "Gussie" Kidd. Among their children was my grandfather, Euel Ernest Mobley (1903-1976). My mother, Betty Clay Mobley Henderson turned 70 on Nov. 2. I corresponded with Ray Mobley of Saratoga, AR years ago.

Ledford and Lucinda are buried in High Hill Cemetery near Saratoga, AR. I went there about 6 years ago and had to dig the tombstones out of the ground to take pictures. The cemetery is abandoned, in the middle of a cow pasture, and virtually all of the 40 or 50 tombstones have been toppled over, some broken.

This line descends from the Mobley/Mobberley family 3 ways, through intermarriage of 1st cousins. I understand the placement of Peyton Mobley's parentage is somewhat questioned, but it seems fairly certain that he and Ledford (the elder) were closely related, as Peyton named a son Ledford (the one that came to AR).

I look forward to corresponding with you on this line. Quite a bit has been discovered on Lucinda's line (the Thorne family) also. Through maternal descent, her line connects with almost all royal lines of Europe!
