I am interested in your mention of Mobley in Maury Co Tn ca 1818......

In Kentucky and Illinois two Mobley sisters married into the Turney family - Frances and Vashti Mobley. One of these was Anthony B. Turney who according to Illinois bio went from KY to Natchez, then back to KY and 1818 to Illinois. His cousin was Eve Turney Smiser - she also went to Natchez, then settled finally near Columbia in Maury Co Tennessee where she built her house - Fairmount. The Illinois bio says Anthony B. Turney took this trip with his brother-in-law who would have been a Mobley.

I just found it interesting that some other Mobleys were also in Maury Co Tn 1815-1816 time frame. Do your connect to the ones out of Kentucky?

Mary
