My notes on Catherine Dixon, the wife of David Mobley, say:
Page 310 of "Heritage History of Chester County, South Carolina", 1982, says that Catherine Dixon (b. 1813, mother of William Dixon Mobley, b. 8 Feb 1841) is the daughter of Tillman Lee Dixon, b. 11 Dec 1808, and Eliza Barns [sic], b. 14 Feb 1818. This is not possible. See page 122 of "Heritage History of Chester County, South Carolina", 1982, which says that Catherine Dixon was the paternal grandmother of "Kate" Mobley, whose maternal grandparents were Tillman Lee Dixon, Sr., and Eliza Barnes.
