There's a chance we may be looking for the same man. In the cemetery my father and grandfather are bured in, there is a J.M. Mobley who was born in Georgia. However, this cemetery is Grady County, GA. Anyway, there are some things from your bible transcription I find interesting:

1. My J.M. Mobley is born in 1856 also, but on March 24.
2. He married a woman named Hattie Elizabeth who was born on Jan 13, 1876

If these are the same people, I can see how Jan & Jun and 13 & 15 can be misread in old handwritings.

I found my information in tombstone inscriptions and the 1920 census (I believe). It said he had a son named Eugene. Daniel Eugene Mobley is my grandfather, and I am thinking that my J.M. Mobley was his father, but I cannot find anything on him.

Maybe this helps you, and if not, good luck in your search.
