ISO General Heritage of Mobley Name
Posted by: Richard Mobley (ID *****3099) Date: December 13, 2004 at 16:40:38

First, let me apologize for asking this question and not doing the investigation myself.

I am Richard Andrew Mobley, son of Richard Donald Mobley (went by name Pete) and Mary Elizabeth Mobley (madien name of Haislip). Father and Mother were born in eastern North Carolina - Williamston, NO and Gold Point

I am writing to ask for a guidance and maybe a few quick answers. My son (Stephen Richard Mobley) needs to investigate his heritage as part of a 5th grade project. I regret to say that I know very little about it and cannot provide any information.

so - my request is
Can anyone provide a information as to the heritage / history of the Mobley name? Also, any information on the North Carolina Mobley's.

I am not looking for a family tree or anything, just some general information as to where the name originated, where we came from, why, etc.

Direction to a web site or anything would be great.

If this question is inappropriate, I apologize.

Richard
