I recently discovered this board, and the message is fairly old (2003??). However, I have portions of a will for Edward Mobley of Chester, SC dated 1839 that contains a long list of slaves he apparently willed to his relatives. I am researching a line of Taliaferos that I elive were salves of Edward Mobley Taliaferro of Dekalb/Fulton Co. GA. I believe that my great, great grandfather who was born in SC is listed among the slaves named in the will as it does name Edward Mobley Taliaferro. I will be happy to send you what I have if you are still looking. if you have any info you can share with me I would be most grateful. I await your reply.
