Yes, I can make you a copy of the wills. Both wills are for Edward Mobley of Chester District; they are dated 1838 and 1839. I obtained the estate package from the SC Archives, and it is on that long paper that is used in archives. Do you think it could be faxed? If not I can get it copied, no problem. Let me know the best way for me to get you the copy.
I am researching my gg grandfather "Miles Taliaferro", a slave mentioned in the final will of 1839, but not the 1838 will. I traced him from GA (1880) back to SC and Edward's will, then hit a brickwall. I have since learned that Miles ended up here in GA through Edward's daughter Susan Mobley Taliaferro and her husband Richard Taliaferro. I found Miles in two inventories of Richard Taliaferro's estate (1856 and 1860). I am trying to trace where and from whom Edward Mobley purchased Miles. I thought that may have been through Ephraim. I am trying to establish a paper trail for Miles' ownership. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
