Robin:
In an earlier posting you wrote about your "James Mobley, maybe of Edgefield County, S.C. who married Peggy Havlen? They had one son, William, b. 11-19-1807, d. 8-25-1892 who is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Morgan County Mo. I can trace my roots directly back to James, who moved from S.C. to Cumberland County, Kentucky". I am searching for the parents of my g-g-grandfather Alfred Mobley, b. 1800-1805, possibly in S.C. (per one census report), who named his two sons James A. and William B. I would be interested in knowing more about your James Mobley and his children, particularly whether any of his children went south from Kentucky to Alabama.
