Joe Mobley sent me information that Jethro Mobley (born in South Carolina 1770-72) was the son of John Moberley and Mary Beam. I have information that a John Mobley (b. SC 1730) was the fifth child of Edward Moberley (b. Maryland 1700) and Susannah DeRuel (b. Virginia 1762. Other information shows that Edward Moberley was the son of William Moberley (b. Frodsham, Cheshire, England 1661). William Moberley and Phoebe Lovejoy were married in Virginia (1680-1692?). Jethro Mobley's wife was Esther Lovejoy, another clue. There is a story that Phoebe Lovejoy was a Quaker, married a Mobley and they "fled" to Maryland with her husband. One of their descendants was the first Mobley in Fairfield County and married a DeRuel (French Huguenot). All Mobley's in South Carolina were supposed to come from this family. This is about all I have on my branch of the Mobleys. I think John is the missing link. I have my descendants of Jethro Alexander Mobley which I can print out from Family Tree Maker 6.0. I will be happy to share this. Just let know how you want it sent. Thank you all for your prompt replies to my query. William E. Counts
