I am a descendant of William Mobley (Mobberley)and Phoebe Lovejoy circa 1690--1700. Tradition in my family was that a Mobley fortune is on deposit in the Bank of England having been hidden during the Revolution. Another tradition is that William and Phoebe lived with the Indians and that their descendants were later falsely accused of being "Tories" and some time later an entire community apologized to the family or families.
