In the book, Hill, G.A. (1961). Hill & Hill-Moberly Connections of Fairfield County, SC, that can be downloaded as a zip file from the Mobley Family Page at a Reuben Rabb Mobley is listed. He was b. 1794 in Craven (Fairfield Co.) Dist, SC, d. 1844 in Harris Co., GA. Reuben's will from Harris Co. was dated 1844. He was the father of James Monroe Mobley, b. 1823 in Jones Co., GA, d. 1903 in Hamilton, Harris Co., GA.
The Hill book said that Reuban Rabb Mobley was the son of Levi Mobley, b. 11/25/1766 in Craven Dist., d. aft 1818 in Greenville, AL. Levi was married to Sarah Rabb, b. about 1770 in SC, d. aft 1818 in Greenville, AL.
Levi Mobley was the son of Edward Mobley, Jr., b. 12/25/1735 near Otter River, Lunenburg (Bedford Co.) Co., VA, d. 10/17/1781 in Craven Dist. He and his wife, Drusilla Meador, b. 11/20/1738 in Caroline Co., VA, d. 10/7/1781, and at least 3 of their 9 children, died of an epidemic that hit the area in 1781. The children who died were Edward III (he was married but had no children), Ruthea, and Sarah. They are all buried near Feasterville, Fairfield Co., SC. The other children who apparently survived to maturity were Elizabeth, William, Susannah, Reuben, and Lavinia.
I put all of this in the message so that you and Wendy can see if your Reubens and Rachels match.
