Three brothers came to Georgia from Fairfield County, S.C. in the early 1830's.
1. Daniel Mobley of Walton Co. Ga.
2. Ephraim Wright Mobley of Cobb Co. Ga.
3. David C. Mobley of Jackson Co. Ga. who was my g-g-g-grandfather.

This is where it gets confusing. No. 3, David C. Mobley named one of his sons Ephraim David after his brother and himself.

No. 2, Ephraim Wright Mobley of Cobb Co. named one of his sons Ephraim David after himself and my g-g-g-grandfather, David C. But he also added an L.and according to your records,it stood for Lovejoy. You list the units Ephraim David L. served in. On the Muster Roll of Company H, 43d Regiment, Georgia Volunteers Infantry Army of Tenn, Jackson County Blues of Jackson County Georgia, it list Ephraim David L. Mobley as having been in the two units you listed but also list him as having enlisted as a private in the Jackson County Blues on March 4, 1862. Captured at Vicksburg, Miss. July 4, 1863, and paroled there July 11, 1863. Roll dated Dec 30, 1864, last on file, shows him absent without leave. No later record.

At first we thought this was our ancestor but realize now it was the son of Ephraim Wright. He apparently transferred to this unit because he had several relatives and relatives by marriage in this unit. They were apparently his first cousin Jones Daniel Mobley, Jones Sells, husband of his cousin Nancy Elizabeth Mobley and Jacob Bradberry, brother of Martha Bradberry Mobley, my g-g-grandmother who was married to Ephraim David Mobley. Do you think it possible that you might still have the source of the information sent to you on Ephraim D. L. and his father? I would very much like to contact someone else researching this branch of the family. I do not have any other information on Ephraim D. L. other than the names of his children from the 1880 Cobb Co. Census.
