While doing my researh a couple of years ago, I met a very nice black lady who worked at the Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce. Fairfield County S. C. is where my Mobley ancestors lived before coming to Georgia in the early 1830's. Her name was Joyce A. Barnes and she told me her grandfather was a Mobley and he was doing research on his family. I do not know if Joyce still works there but the address is P. O. Box 297, Winnsboro, SC 29180 and the phone number is 803-635-4242. Perhaps this will help you.
