Man for Newt Mobley-Santo Domingo,1910?

Years ago I got a call from a man who was looking for a Mobley who ended up settling in the Caribbean. Since this was in the early 90s in the time of Newt Gingrich, I seem to recall that the name of the Mobley was also Newt. At the time I didn't know what to make of this request, and I told the man I knew nothing. I could now be remembering it all wrong. But now that I have my father's files in front of me I see that a half brother to my great great grandpa was named Newton Herschel and died in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) in 1910. Now I am curious, did this man have interesting tales about this somewhat mysterious ancestor? If by some miracle, that man sees this post...and I am not remembering wrongly, then I would love to talk to him. And if anyone knows anything else about this guy, then I'd like to hear from you too. Thanks
