I am researching family history and would be happy to hear from anyone with connections or information. James Moffatt / Moffitt was born about 1848 and married Mary Scanlon/Scanlan/Scanlin in the parish of Kilshalvey Kilt (County Sligo,Ireland) 26 February 1876. James' father was Patrick and Mary's father James. Their wives names are unknown. James and Mary Moffatt / Moffitt had four children John b. 1877, Mary b. 1878, Thomas b. 1991 and James b. 1886. The family lived in the parish of Curry, County Sligo, and James Moffatt's occupation is recorded as "farmer". Names are given alternative spellings as these alternatives have been used at times in church records.
