The David Moffatt you list happens to be a first cousin to my David Moffatt. It has caused some confusion - especially because the two are very close in age. I have found through research this summer that my David Moffatt left the Lanark County area in the summer of 1864 (a runaway apprentice) and from what I can tell - was not heard from again.
Thanks for posting the information. Is your David Moffatt from the same time frame (mid - 1800's)?
