Hi Pat: Gee, many thanks again. Such interesting info. I'm sorry I don't have anything to share with you on this, but I have read your information you just sent several times, and of course had my map out.
If you have any plans to come to WA again, let us know. We're in Redmond, OR and Bend, OR which is Central OR, so kind of the same type of area as Puyallup, WA. Desert. We've lived in this area since about 1970, moving from Bend to Redmond, OR in 1997. Thought we would get away from some traffic, but it has grown, grown and grown some more. That is the year we retired. We have two children, no grandchildren and don't think they will have any. Our son is in Salmon, ID and plans on retiring in about 4 years-gads, does that make me feel old. He's been with the US Forest Service all these years. We don't get to see him too often. Our daughter is in Eugene, OR (130 miles) away, so we see her some during the summer. She comes over for weekends some.
Glad you're in TN as that is a nice state. We took off in 1997 in motor home-went to IA to see my brother and family. He's the only family I have left, other than cousins. I grew up in NE corner of IA-almost MN and WI, IL. Then we traveled to MO and TN. Did the Grand Ole Opry and did some research in Bolivar-the people there were so nice. Let us park our motor home right in the parking lot. Got quite a bit on Lambeths and Macons. But didn't do much on Mofield, as I didn't have much together on them. We wanted to go to the Smokey Mtns., but the weather changed and snow was predicted, so thought we had best head south. Went to AR, MS, LA and into TX. Love courthouses. Then on over to AZ
I want to do another trip like that only take in some areas we didn't see before-was hoping it might be this fall, but might be next year.
Does your husband help or do research too? Mine doesn't actually do the research, but he goes with me to walk many cemeteries, courthouses. He sometimes get so engrossed in reading the old wills and documents that he finds himself reading everyones documents.
I can see them coming across LA to go to TX. You have such good info, that some of these pieces should be falling into place. But would love to have your transcriptions that you mentioned. I always read my census, etc at the library-had to order them. Did go to Salt Lake City, Utah one year for 10 days, but that is when I found Dail's grandparents on the Lambeth/Macon side. So I concentrated on just that one line.
Need to enter a few things in the computer-thanks again. Enjoying this info so much. Phyllis & Dail
