SERMON NOTES
ENGLISH BY REV WILBE
GERMAN BY REV VOGL

TEXT: THE WAY OF THE CROSS LEADS HOME.

HE SOJOWNED HERE 84 YEARS BUT THIS WAS NOT HIS HOME. FOR A LOST CHILD THE SWEETEST WORDS WOULD BE, " I'M GOING HOME"

WE CAN SAY OF OUR DECEASED BROTHER THAT HE HAS FINISHED HIS COURSE.

ON WHICH ROAD DO WE FIND OURSELVES THIS AFTERNOON? WE CAN NOT CHANGE OUR FOOT PRINTS, BUT WE CAN CHANGE OUR COURSE.

WE HAVE ALL SINNED. MANY ARE ON THE BROAD ROAD TO DISTRUSTION. THE SIGN ON THE ROAD SAYS, THE WAY OF THE CROSS LEADS HOME, HOME TO GOD.

WHAT DOES THE CROSS MEAN? IT PUTS US FACE TO FACE WITH JESUS CHRIST AND WITH THE GREATEST STORY - THAT JESUS CAME TO SEEK AND SAVE THOSE WHO ARE LOST.

THERE IS A NARROW WAY AND FEW WALK THERE ON. JESUS SAID, " I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIGHT." IT IS ONLY THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST THAT WE CAN EVER GO HOME.

THERE IS NO OTHER WAY HOME BUT THE CROSS. WE MUST SACRIFICE SELF AND FOLLOW CHRIST. THE FOOT PRINTS OF THE MASTER LEAD HOME.

THE FOOT PRINTS OF THE DECEASED DEFINITELY LEAD HOME FOR HE FOLLOWED IN THE MASTER'S FOOT STEPS.
