Gregg,

I did try to reach the family that had originally given me the information. The lady is now in a nursing home, and the kids didn't know what the sources were, other than family stories. I went back and checked my records for Elizabeth Hanna. All of Elizabeth's census records say she (and her parents)were born in Ireland, which is what you had said. However, I seem to think that I saw somewhere a biography for William Hanna and Lady Catherine Stuart, and it referred to them as being born in England. It might have been in the 1888 Mercer Co., PA History. I didn't make a copy of it at the time because I wasn't tracing Martin's wife's line. You might look there. If not, I digress to your superior knowledge.

You had also asked me to check your Beighley information. I guess what I want to know is what do you really want to know about the Beighleys? I have a ton of info on them because they are in my direct line. Nothing links them to the MOON/MOHN line before coming to Pennsylvania. Conrad came from Maryland to Northampton Co., PA to Westmoreland Co., PA. The Beighleys and Moons didn't link up until abt 1810, or maybe a little after that. Jacob married Christiana Ottilia Beighley in 1818 in Butler Co., and Catherine Moon married Christiana's brother, John Miller Beighley (known as "Miller John", but the Miller was probably Milliron after his mother's family) sometime around the same time. Anything pertaining to the Moons and Beighleys specifically, I have already given to Shari Knaust, as I'm sure you are aware of. It was at the same time that I shared the information about the christening records for John (Johannes) and Jacob MOHN being in Loudoun Co., Virginia. It was at that time that I also shared with her the spelling of the name as "MOHN", and that they were of German descent. When I had spoken with her, she was sure that the Moons were connected to the Bucks Co., PA Moons. She thought that they were English. I believe that right after I talked to her, she posted a message in the MOON surname forum that you should all be looking for MOHN instead of MOON, and that they were German.

Anyway, let me know what additional information you feel you need on the Beighleys, and I will be happy to share it.

Alicia
