I HAVE READ ALL THE POSTING IN THIS FAMILY NAME/NAMES, and I would like to add to the mystery of these names. We have a g-g-grandfather named LEVI OWEN MANN (or Mohn as one family member said,) who was born in PA. in 1811. I do not have any names of parents or siblings for him. I, too, have been wondering about the given name of LEVI and where it came from. I also was told that his father's name was John. I sure could use some help in this. I have been through the Manns, the Mohns, Mauns, and anything else that remotely sounded plausable.
The names of his children were:
John S., Mary E., Laura H., Jacob H., Josiah Zethaniah, Samuel O., Levi Owen, William Harvey, George L., and Rose Ellen. Eight of these were born in Sharpsburg, Maryland, one in Ohio and two in Indiana.
Any one have any suggestions? I know there is something that I have probably missed, but do not know where to go now. I have been 4 years on this quest.
Thank you,
