Hey Robert:

Good to hear from you. I pushed the Moon project when no one else had started it. The good thing about any of these projects is that you can go to Ysearch and compare your YDNA (from the male line) to any other lines. In my case, I was a match for only one person in the system and that was a John Paul Dunn out of Star NC. Even though it was a genetic distance of 3 (3 of the 37 markers were off by 1 number), it shows some connection with that name and, NC. I know the Quakers moved south and some moved back north and I never thought I was part of that group but this could draw some connection there.

Another thing I found was the Abram Moon in NC's General Assembly documents for the late 1780s. Also included were Martins, Gillespies, Wilsons and Whites, the surnames that married into my Moon lines in Md, Va and Wva.

Anyway, I think it would be great for you and as many others as possible to participate because it will help narrow down the lines and connections.

Please let me know when you submit the test.

Thanks,

Mike Moon
