Searching for more than the Johannes Mohn in Berks Co., PA is a valid question.
It is rather obvious to me and Shari that there is more than one Johannes Mohn, Johannes Mohn also appears in the communion list of St John's Lutheran Church in Butler County, also John Moon is listed in the 1810 census of Mercer county, PA, and I could cite you other sources for the basis for our inquiry. Also, the prominence of the name of John in our direct family tree, I have 23 Johns listed and we have not finished out our tree or have even come close.
Also Verner, there is a source that states he died before 1770, then why is the name showing up in tax lists in 1780's, obviously there is more than one Verner if the source is accurate.
The records at that time are scattered and incomplete at best, but there are avenues we have not even begun to look in to as yet. Most of that will have to be done, I think, as footwork and road trips. There is a lot we do not know so no conclusions should be made yet, I think. But I do think the attempt should be made to search it out in whatever theater is available, someone may provide a clue or a direction.
Thank you, Debbie
