I just wanted to share a twist to the search and to revisit some old information.
First the twist, a fellow searcher tells me he has a Jacob Abram Moon listed in the 1830 census for Allegany County Md in District 1. If this was our Abraham, it would make sense because, from my understanding, germans used the middle name first. Jacob and Abraham are scattered throughout the territory from the late 1700s to the mid 1800s. Could it be that they are the same person????
Second, I revisted information I obtained from my grandmother who was married to Arthur Boyd Moon, son of Benjamin Moon, son of Josiah Moon, son of Benjamin Moon who was the son of Abraham. According to my grandmother (deceased for over 15 years) there were 2 brothers, possibly twins, who came from Germany and they owned & operated mines in Virginia. Sulfer and salt mines possibly. Anyway, could this have been Abraham and Jacob Moon/Mohn?
Just some thoughts to cloud the picture. Anyway, I'm still looking and still looking for documentation on anything.
