Hi Katrina,
Hows progress. Moir is a very common name in the North East of Scotland. There are 4 subsets under the name of Moir or More. Around Inverurie there were at least 8 main family groups from the time of 1800. Do you have any specific dates in mind and if possible the family names that are most common. For example there was an Andrew Moir from the Inverurie area in at least 1770 to 1800 who had a James and Helen in the family. My family come from south of Inverurie.
I have a full copy of the IGI for MOIR so I may be able to assist. My family came to Australia - a GG Uncle Alexander 1848 and my GF around 1865 named John.
I saw your other enquiry re Glasgow so am interested in the tie up to Kemnay - a bit different to the norm.
Cheers John
