Hello Robert:
I research the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800.
Note 1 - Without a KNOWN county, the chance of an ancestor's rcds NOT being in this database is AT LEAST 35%.
Note 2 - Only 1/2 of Co. Cork's rcds are in this database.
Note 3 - The RC church kept control over most parish rcds from Tipperary (north). These are ONLY available thru the Tipperary Family History Research center at a substantial fee (regardless of outcome).
For James Molloy B 1860 +/- 1 yr somewhere in Ireland with a father forenamed Luke, I found 0 rcds
For Cat(herine) Molloy B 1858 ditto, I found ditto.
For Phil(ip) Molloy B 1857 ditto, I found 1 rcds in 1857, Co. Cavan, Lurgan parish.
For Luke Molloy B 1851 ditto, I found 1 rcd in 1851, Co. Cavan, Lurgan parish.
For Mary Ann(e) B 1850 ditto, I found 0 rcds.
For Mich(ael) Molloy B 1844 ditto, I found 1 rcd in 1844, Co. Cavan, Lurgan parish.
For Farrell Molloy B ???? ditto, I found 0 rcds.
For Ann(e) Molloy B ditto, I found 1 rcd in 1843, Co. Cavan, but not in Lurgan.
For Phil(ip) Molloy B ditto, I found 2 rcds: 1843, and 1855, both in Co. Cavan, Lurgan parish.
For Luke Molloy M 1841 +/- 2 yrs, Co. Cavan, I found 1 rcd in 1842, Killinkere RC parish.
For Mary Reilly M ditto, I found ditto. This and Luke's rcd are HIGHLY likely to be for your ancestors. A view of the detailed rcd SHOULD show they married each other. If so, the view will likely reveal their parents' names and other info. This MAY help validate the bride and groom's B rcds.
For Mary Reilly B 1815 +/- 4 yrs, Co. Cavan, I found 34 rcds. The parent info from above MAY help you pick which, if any, is for this ancestor.
For Luke Molloy B ditto, somewhere in Ireland with the father's forename unknown I found 0 rcds within a relevant range.
Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
