My g-grandmother is a Catherine MANEE from Staten Island, NY, thus probably a descendant of Pierre MANEE. I have not filled in the gap but a cyber friend, who thinks we are certainly 'cousins' has traced his family back to the Monnett's of Poitou, France. His name is Bob Heinrich and he has a great web-site at the following address:
www.familytreemaker.com/users/h/e/i/robert-m-heinrich/index.html
I think you would enjoy it and if you click Gedcom you will find his great genealogy chart going back to the Monnett's of the 1500's. Bill Smith wmesmith@NCtimes.net
