Hello Joyce,Here it is a year+ since you posted your note on the O.E Monnette's book and your direct ancestor, Jean-Francois Monet dit Laverdure Biscornet m. Marie Dumas...I descend from their son Pierre Monet who was the 2nd husband of Elizabeth Corse Dumontet.
They married in LaPrairie in 1730. She had 8 children( 16in 1712) with Jean Dumontet dit LaGrandeur, and 8 more with Pierre. She was an English girl(age 7) taken captive to Canada after the French/Indian Deerfield,MA Massacre on Feb 29, 1704. Her mother and grandparents(John Catlin m.Mary Baldwin) were killed in the raid, her cousin Martha French(age8) along with Martha's 4 siblings were also taken. Martha was raised by the Indians for 2 years and sold to the Nuns of the congregation of Montreal.Elizabeth Corse was raised by Pierre
Roy and wife Catherine DuCharme. Pierre's son Jacques m. Martha French when she was 16.
Did you find any info in the book you ordered
regarding the ancestprs in France? TG
