Hello Barb,
Thank you for the response. Sorry for the delay. Located just southeast of Montreal, on the mainland, L'Acadie is a small village in the County of Saint-Jean (Once the County of Laprairie),in the Province of Quebec, Canada. Acadia, now Annapolis,Nova Scotia, is and was in the Atlantic, or Maritime Provinces. It's an easy mistake to make, I did it too. My source was a lookup, kindly done for me, by another researcher, in TANGUAY & JETTE. I haven't verified at a genealogy society,as yet.
I have been told, and have also read, that the parentage, and birth of FRANCOIS MONET DIT LAVERDURE are unknown. I had hoped that Orra Eugene Monnette's book, on the Monet families, would shed some light on his origins. I changed my mind about purchasing the book, in favor of three other books, I needed for my research, that I would receive sooner (Not about the MONET families).
