Nancy thanks for posting. I know there were other children that were left in portugal for sure. We are working on several that made it to Hawaii. We have found George Moniz's family that was a brother to our grandfather. Do you know Theresa de Jesus parents names (you know that de Jesus was probably a confirmational name.)? On the baptismal does it have the village or the parish? Any other information? We have seen the name spelled differently too. I also have a document with the name Moniz Mari...I believe we should never dismiss any connection. Our people did not write. They signed with an X so that maded for mistakes. Please keep in touch.
