Dear Elizabeth,
Thank you for writting. My grandmother and father have passed so I have no one here to get further information from. I do have a trip planned in July to the Big Island, where I will stay with my Auntie Violet. (Sophie's daughter) I plan to go to Honakaa and search records. I am trying to find out when they left Portugal. Do you have any information on your grandfathers brother?
Or their parents names? I know there are so old timers with stories in Honakaa. I will pass on all I learn.
