Researching Meaning of Moniz
Posted by: Chrisotpher O'Brien Date: June 09, 2001 at 14:43:12

I am a fourth grade student in Virginia. My grandmother (my mother's mother) is a Menez which is the Americanized version of Moniz. Immigration changed it from Moniz to Menez when her great grandparents arrived from the Azores.

I am interested to know where the name Moniz came from and what it means. If you can help please email me.
Thanks

Chris O'Brien
