I am looking for information on my Moniz line. Jacinto Moniz was born in Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel. Jacinto married Teresa de Jesus. I only know of one child Antonio Moniz born March 22, 1823 in Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel and died December 31, 1909.
Antonio married Margarita de Jesus on May 14, 1899. Margarita was born on April 6, 1847 and died June 5, 1888. California death records indicate Margarita's maiden name as de Silva and other sources state it may be Rodriques. Antonio and Margarita had the following children that I know of - Manuel died September 15, 1925, Emilia, Joseph born June 9, 1878, George born May 26, 1882 and Mary born September 23, 1885.
My great grandfather was Joseph Moniz and he was married to Maria de Jesus de Nobriga on January 15, 1899. Maria died giving birth to my grandfather Manuel Moniz, on November 2, 1899. Joseph was then married to Maria Bento Gouveia, on April 16, 1904. Maria's parents were Bento de Gouveia and Emilia de Jesus.
Joseph and Maria Gouveia had 14 children all were born in Hawaii - Joseph, John, Willie, Alfred, George, Margaret, Daniel, Ernest, Violet, Henry, Albert, Florence and Helen.
