Dear Judy: Well, I did a little research and found your great-grandparents on the IGI. ESTEBAN MONTEMAYOR married TOMASA GUERRA on August 27, 1857 at La Asuncion, Marin, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

My ancestors, ESTEBAN MONTEMAYOR and JUANA LOZANO were married on November 24, 1880 at La Asuncion, Marin, Nuevo Leon.

So I know that these are not the same but that doesn't mean that we are not linked. I am wondering whether your Tia Dora knows whether your great grandparents had a son they named Esteban? I am estimating that my Esteban Montemayor was born around 1860 which means that he could be a son of your Esteban!

On a different note, it's funny that you are a Garza because so am I. My Montemayor ancestor (daughter of Esteban and Juana) married into the Martinez family and then my Mom married my Father, a de la Garza. It would be great if my Estaban is a son of your Estaban! Let me know what your Tia says. Cate
